Here is what happens during your 90 minutes session:

Step 01 — Cleanse

A thorough deep cleanse of the back removes surface impurities, sunscreen, sweat and excess sebum — creating a clean base for the steps ahead.

Step 02 — AHA Exfoliation + Scrub

AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is applied to chemically dissolve dead skin cells and loosen pore congestion, followed by a physical scrub to buff away loosened debris. This two-stage exfoliation deeply unclogs bacne-prone pores and smooths rough back texture.

Step 03 — Manual Extraction

Our therapist performs careful manual extraction to clear blackheads, whiteheads and congested pores from the back — eliminating the root cause of recurring breakouts.

Step 04 — Ice Dynamic Pulse Light (Ice DPL)

Step 05 — Mask

1. How is this different from a regular back facial?

A regular back facial focuses on cleansing and extraction. Our Back Acne (Bacne) Treatment goes further with Ice DPL technology — targeting acne bacteria at the source, reducing inflammation and stimulating collagen renewal to fade post-acne scars. It’s a multi-pronged approach that addresses both active bacne and scarring in a single session.

2. Is the treatment painful?

Most clients find it well-tolerated. AHA and scrub are gentle, extraction is performed carefully, and the Ice DPL device incorporates contact cooling that minimises discomfort during light pulses.

3. Is there any downtime after the treatment?

Typically no significant downtime. Some clients may experience mild redness for a few hours post-treatment. We recommend avoiding heavy exercise, hot showers and tight clothing on the treated area for at least 24 hours.

4. How many sessions do I need?

Improvement is often visible after the first session for mild to moderate acne. For established acne scars and hyperpigmentation, a course of 4–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart is recommended.

5. Can this treatment address both active acne and scars at the same time?

6. Is this suitable for all skin types?

This treatment is suitable for most skin types, including oily, combination, and sensitive back skin. Our therapist will assess your skin condition before commencing and adjust the protocol where necessary. This treatment is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding clients — please consult your doctor if this applies to you.

7. What should I do before and after the treatment?

Before: avoid heavy scrubbing or self-extraction on your back for at least 3 days prior. Arrive with a clean back where possible. After: keep the area clean, avoid tight or abrasive clothing that may irritate the treated skin, limit prolonged sun exposure, and apply a gentle moisturiser regularly. Do not pick or squeeze any remaining blemishes to prevent further scarring.
