Seborrheic Keratosis

Rough, raised warty growths that appear on the skin surface — often brown, tan or black in colour. Common in adults over 30 and tend to multiply with age. They are non-contagious and benign, but many clients prefer to have them removed for aesthetic reasons.

Solar Lentigo — Liver Spots & Age Spots

Flat, darkened patches caused by years of UV exposure — commonly known as liver spots or age spots. They appear most often on the face, hands and areas frequently exposed to the sun. Electrocautery precisely targets the pigmented tissue for a cleaner, more even complexion.

Milia Seeds — Oil Seeds

Tiny, white, hard keratin-filled cysts that sit just beneath the skin surface — commonly called oil seeds. They often appear around the eyes, nose and cheeks and cannot be squeezed out like regular pimples. Electrocautery allows for precise, clean removal without damaging the surrounding skin.

Skin Tags

Small, soft skin-coloured flaps of skin that hang off the surface — typically found on the neck, underarms, eyelids and body folds. Completely harmless but often removed for comfort or cosmetic reasons. Electrocautery removes them cleanly at the base.

Moles

Small pigmented spots on the skin that are common and generally benign. Electrocautery can effectively address surface-level moles for cosmetic purposes. Please note: if you have any concerns about a mole's appearance or have noticed recent changes, consult a doctor before proceeding with removal.

Step 01 — Cleanse

The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed to remove all surface impurities, makeup and oils — ensuring a clean, hygienic environment for the blemish removal procedure.

Step 02 — Numb

A topical numbing agent is applied to the treatment area and left on for sufficient time to take full effect — ensuring the procedure is as comfortable as possible. Most clients find the process very tolerable once the numbing has fully set in.

Step 03 — Zap (Electrocautery Removal)

Our aesthetician uses a precise electrocautery device to target and remove each blemish individually. The controlled heat energy from the device safely breaks down the blemish tissue at the surface level — leaving the surrounding skin intact. Each blemish is treated with care and precision for a clean, accurate result.

Step 04 — Anti-Inflammatory Cream Application

Once all blemishes have been treated, a soothing anti-inflammatory cream is applied to the treated area. This step is important for calming immediate redness and swelling that can occur after the electrocautery procedure, reducing the risk of post-treatment irritation and creating a protective barrier over the freshly treated skin to support the early stages of healing. It helps settle the skin before you leave — so you walk out feeling comfortable and cared for.

Pricing is based on the size of each individual blemish. There is no fixed number of blemishes per session — treatment continues until you are happy with the session, subject to a minimum spend of $30.

• ~3–5mm — $15 per blemish

• ~10–15mm and above — $55 and above per blemish

Larger or more complex blemishes may require more than one session to fully clear. Your aesthetician will assess each blemish and advise accordingly during your appointment.

Following the removal of your blemishes, it is important to care for the treated skin properly to ensure the best possible healing and outcome.

First 24–48 Hours

• Keep it dry and clean: Avoid washing the area aggressively or soaking it in water for extended periods.

• Hands off: Do not touch, scratch or pick at any forming scabs — this can cause scarring and increase infection risk.

• No makeup: Avoid applying foundation, concealer or heavy creams directly over the treated sites for at least 24–48 hours.

• Apply soothing ointment: Use a thin layer of healing ointment twice daily to support the skin's recovery.

Days 3–7 and Beyond

• Gentle cleansing: Wash twice daily with a mild, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic cleanser. Pat dry softly — do not rub.

• Pause active ingredients: Avoid chemical exfoliants (AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid) and retinoids around treated spots for 5–7 days until the skin has fully healed.

• Wear sunscreen daily: Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every day. Healing skin is highly vulnerable to UV-triggered hyperpigmentation — sun protection is essential during recovery.

1. Is the treatment painful?

A topical numbing agent is applied before the procedure and left on for sufficient time to take effect — making the removal process very comfortable for most clients. You may feel a slight warmth or brief sensation during the zapping, but discomfort is minimal. An anti-inflammatory cream is applied at the end to soothe and settle the skin before you leave.

2. How many blemishes can be removed in one session?

There is no set limit. The session is priced à la carte by blemish size with a minimum spend of $30 — your aesthetician will work through as many blemishes as you wish to address in the session. Larger or more complex blemishes may require more than one visit to fully clear.

3. Will the blemishes come back?

Blemishes that are fully removed by electrocautery generally do not return at the same spot. However, new blemishes may continue to appear over time as part of the natural ageing process or due to ongoing sun exposure — particularly age spots and seborrheic keratosis.

4. Will there be scarring?

When performed correctly and followed up with proper aftercare — especially not picking at scabs and wearing sunscreen daily — scarring risk is very low. The anti-inflammatory cream applied at the end of the session also helps protect the skin in those critical first hours. Following your aesthetician's post-care instructions closely is the most important factor in achieving a clean, smooth result.

5. How long does healing take?

Most treated sites form a small scab that naturally falls off within 5–10 days. The skin underneath continues to heal and settle over the following weeks. Sun protection during this period is essential to prevent post-inflammatory pigmentation.
