Customised IPL Permanent Hair Removal | Intense Pulsed Light | Tailored Hair Removal for Any Area
Any Area. Your Choice. Permanently.
Don't see your treatment area in our standard list? No problem. Love Skin's Customised IPL Permanent Hair Removal is designed for clients who need hair removal on areas not covered by our standard treatment pages.
Whether it's a smaller unique area or a combination of areas, our aestheticians will advise on the most effective approach and price accordingly. All sessions use the same Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to progressively target and reduce hair follicles at the root for lasting results.
Before Your Appointment
To ensure the best results and a smooth session, please take note of the following:
-
Shave the treatment area at least 1 day before your appointment.
-
Avoid waxing, threading or epilating at least 4 weeks before your appointment.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothing on the day.
-
Forgot to shave? An in-house shaving service is available at an additional charge of $15 per area.
-
Avoid sun exposure on the treatment area at least 2 weeks before and after treatment.
The Treatment Process
Here is what happens during your session:
Step 01 — IPL Hair Removal Treatment
Your aesthetician will assess the area, advise on the appropriate treatment approach and deliver IPL light energy to the targeted area — progressively reducing hair growth session by session.
Step 02 — Post-Treatment Lotion Application
A soothing lotion is applied to the treated area immediately after the session to calm the skin, reduce any mild redness and keep the area comfortable.
Post-Treatment Care
Caring for your skin after IPL is important for both your comfort and your results. Please follow these guidelines:
For the First 24 Hours
-
Avoid hot baths or showers — lukewarm water only.
-
No swimming or sunbathing.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothing — avoid tight fabrics on the treated area.
-
Do not apply perfumed products, deodorant, antiperspirant, self-tanner or makeup on the treated area.
-
Do not scrub, rub or exfoliate the treated area.
-
Avoid strenuous exercise that causes excessive sweating.
For the First 4 Weeks
-
Avoid heat treatments, UV exposure, sun beds and saunas — the skin is more sensitive post-IPL.
-
Do not wax, tweeze or use depilatory creams on the treated area. Shaving is perfectly fine between sessions.
-
Apply a soothing moisturiser or aloe vera gel if your skin feels dry, warm or slightly red — this will help calm and comfort the skin.
-
Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) daily on treated areas that are exposed to sunlight.

-
You are currently taking photosensitising medication — consult your doctor first.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is IPL Permanent Hair Removal?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a proven, non-invasive technology used worldwide for permanent hair reduction. Unlike shaving or waxing — which only remove hair from the surface — IPL targets the hair follicle at the root, progressively reducing its ability to produce new hair with each session.
2. How Does IPL Work?
IPL emits targeted pulses of light that are absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair. The light energy converts to heat, which travels down the hair shaft and damages the follicle at the root — progressively reducing its ability to produce new hair growth.
Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are needed to target every follicle at the right stage of the hair growth cycle. With each session, you will notice progressively less regrowth — finer, sparser and slower-growing — until the hair is significantly and permanently reduced.
3. Is IPL hair removal painful?
Most clients describe the sensation as a mild snap or warm flick on the skin — quick and well-tolerated. The feeling varies slightly depending on the area being treated and individual sensitivity.
4. Is IPL suitable for all skin types?
IPL works best on clients with lighter to medium skin tones with darker hair, as the contrast allows the light to target the hair pigment most effectively. Please consult us via WhatsApp at +65 8318 1528 if you have any questions about your suitability before booking.
5. How many sessions will I need?
Most clients see significant reduction after 6–8 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Hair grows in cycles, so multiple sessions are needed to target every follicle at the right stage. Additional sessions may be recommended for maintenance.
After your initial series, additional sessions may be recommended to maintain your results. Your aesthetician will advise based on your hair and skin type.
6. Why do I need to shave before my appointment?
Shaving removes surface hair while leaving the hair root intact — which is what IPL needs to target. Waxing or tweezing removes the root, making IPL less effective.
7. Can I shave between sessions?
Yes. Shaving between sessions is perfectly fine and will not affect your results. Avoid waxing, tweezing or depilatory creams.
8. Can IPL be done over tattoos?
No. IPL cannot be performed over tattooed skin as the light energy may damage the tattoo and cause skin injury. Please inform your aesthetician of any tattoos on or near the treatment area.
9. Is there downtime after IPL?
No significant downtime. Some mild redness or warmth in the treated area is normal and usually settles within a few hours. Follow the post-treatment care guidelines above.
